Sarah was baptized last night at church. Both Steffie and I were trying to take pictures, so we didn’t really get to see it. Dad was up in the baptistry with Sarah. He told her that even though she went the way of the world as a teenager, he was very proud of her that in the past year she has returned to the Lord with her whole heart, and made obedience to Him her first goal in life. When she was asked why she wanted to be baptized, Sarah answered:
“I want my past and all my old life of not serving God to be washed away, and I want a new beginning in my life.”
So then: “I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!”
Sarah held her nose, and under the water she went!
When she came out of that water, she said it was like all the air had been squeezed out of her, and she took a huge breath, and with that breath, she said she was filled and baptized with the Holy Spirit! She said it was the first time in her life she has felt God dwelling inside of her, not just knowing He was with her with her mind! She is GLOWING now too – she even looks like a new creation in Christ! Yippee Yi Yay!
But wait … even more happened after that! To be continued …
