Friday October 7
We slept in, checked out of our hotel, and drove to Sarasota on the Gulf coast of Florida, where my husband’s family lives. We spent a wonderful day getting caught up with everyone. Tomorrow we are going to the beach! (My first time seeing the ocean, except from an airplane at 20,000 feet.)
Saturday October 8
1. Zane’s first time in the ocean too! (with his mom and dad).
2. The sand pail and shovel was a bigger hit than the water.
3. Zane and his dad making sand castles.
4. “Hey guys … you aren’t going to leave me in here, right? Guys?” Our nephew getting buried in the sand.
5. My wonderful in-laws enjoying the sun and sea.
Continued in Lions and turtles and alligators, oh my!

We have reservations at Longboat Key beginning Sunday, but it appears that Wilma is going to interfer with those plans. Are you going to visit Mote Marine Lab while you are right there? I am so glad you are enjoying your rest. Blessings ~ Patricia

Because we are home now. Although tropical storm Tammy caused it to rain in Orlando the first two days we were at Disney, LOL. I was slow getting pictures posted from our vacation. We went to the beach on October 8, actually. I am so sorry Wilma might interfere with your plans. It looks like Wilma might impact Sarasota, which doesn’t get hurricanes often, so I am praying for my husband’s family there.

you were coming to Siesta Key, I would have met you there! Glad you had a great time. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the west coast. However, Zane wasn’t in the ocean, he was in the Gulf of Mexico. Common mistake people make. LOL! Loving reading about your adventures in Florida. Also, glad to read about your detox. I am doing a detox now, however, with evacuating for Wilma for 5 days, I ate what was available, and thus some processed. I feel awful. Funny, how when you get away from the crud, you become so sensitive to it. We don’t have a Wild Oats here, but we do have Whole Foods. Same animal, different breed. LOL!

Are you in Sarasota? I was at the Whole Foods there. I shopped for myself since I am on such a restrictive diet … no gluten, etc. … and I didn’t want to burden my husband’s family with a long list of can haves and can’t haves. I took a little cooler with me everywhere, even to Disney, so I would have something to eat in case we couldn’t find anything suitable. Thus I went to Whole Foods the first day I was in Sarasota. Have you tried Green and Black’s Organic Chocolate? y u u u u u m m y. I bought one bar of Maya Gold and had a little teeny piece each day I was there. I was on vacation, and that was my indulgence. LOL. That was soooo good. I should blog about Green and Black’s Organic Chocolate.
