Normally we have Sabbath supper at our house with Mike and Brittany, and Sarah and Matt, and sometimes other family and friends. Last night Mike and Brittany were unable to make it, and Sarah and Matt excused themselves to go see the new Thor movie on opening night (we forgive them, as it is our fault we are a family of geeks and nerds. Dave wanted to go see it too!)
So, I put all the food I had been making away, and Dave and I got a hamburger at McDonald’s, and we went to the beach! It was beautiful.
On Friday, May 6th: It rained quite hard in Sarasota that day, and even though the clouds blew over and it was starting to clear up by the time we went to the beach, there were rivers of rain water still flowing through the beach toward the sea.
- Rivers of rain water.
- The rain water rivers had cut channels into the sand.
- Rain water river.
- Another river to the sea.
- The red lifeguard station.
- The yellow station.
- The green station. There is also a blue one, but I did not get a picture of that one this time. Those are volleyball nets in the background.
- This plant had just sprouted and was growing in the sand right on the beach. This sand is 99% pure white quartz – it is amazing to me that anything can grow in it!
- I love sandpipers!
- These are so grainy because of using zoom. I have to learn to use my camera.
- These are just some random kids, no one we know, doing what all kids universally seem to love to do at the beach. One day when our grandkids come for a visit, I will post pics of them playing in the sand. 🙂
- Looking for sand dollars.
- Because there had been a storm that day, the waves were coming in faster and with more power than we are used to.
- Atlantic slipper shell.
- Fish skull.
- Sea urchin shell.
- Going …
- White- balanced.
- Going …
- Going …
- Going …
- Gone.
