I have been working double time with Aunt Kellie the last week or so on the blankets from Grandma Burbank’s sweatshirts. As you know, Grandma Burbank had so many beautiful sweatshirts and sweaters when she passed away, that we could not just throw them all out. We began making blankets out of the sweatshirts, so that everyone in her family could have one. Grandpa Don’s was full of navies, blues, whites, blacks, and grays. He uses it as his bedspread to this day. 🙂 Then we finished one for Uncle Jeff – it was greens, grays, browns, and tans, with a little red thrown in. I need to get some good pictures of those two blankets.
We then planned one for Uncle Bob and Aunt Nancy, which got put on the shelf last year when I had to finish my book revisions. We have been working on it, and finally mostly finished it today. It is beautiful, with navies, greens, golds, and burgundies. And bunnies, and sunflowers. 🙂 That is for you, Aunt Nancy!
Now we are working on Aunt Kellie’s. Hers is going to be purples, pinks, and ivories, with touches of coral and gold; and lots of Disney, kitties, and butterflies! It will be beautiful!
