Shavuot / Weeks / Pentecost is Sunday, and I am excited to celebrate His holy day!
This day is a Sabbath of rest, which is a prophecy of grace. On this day, God gave both His Torah and His Spirit to His people, showing that His Way of Instruction (Torah) and His Spirit are not adversaries but two sides of the same coin.

It is by the Spirit that we walk in obedience to God as a new creation, as Moses, the Prophets, Jesus, and the Apostles attest. Has the word of man told you that His commandments OR His Spirit has passed away? Listen to the Word of God:
And He said: “Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you. Observe what I command you this day. Exo 34:10-11
“Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. Deu 30:1-6
Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. 1 Sam 10:6
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Psa 51:10-11“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My Law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” Jer 31:31-34
Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Eze 36:25-27
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Mat 5:17-19
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice Law-lessness!’” Mat 7:21-23
“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. Joh 14:15-17
Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law. Rom 3:31
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 Joh 2:3-4
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. Rev 22:14
These will start you on this journey of discovery, but there are a great number more which witness to this truth!
Shavuot is a witness to the Torah observant not to cast away the Spirit, and a witness to the Spirit-filled not to cast away the Torah, for both are good and perfect gifts which have come down from the Father of lights!

Well written! I especially love your ending line, “Shavuot is a witness to the Torah observant not to cast away the Spirit, and a witness to the Spirit-filled not to cast away the Torah, for both are good and perfect gifts which have come down from the Father of lights!” AMEN!! <3

Thank you Christina! Do you happen to know Kevin Vander Westhuizen? He was (is?) a prophet from South Africa who immigrated to the U. S. some time ago.
