The weather people tried so hard to make a crisis out of Tropical Storm Elsa. The fact is, several tropical storms pass near us all summer long. The hurricanes start showing up, typically in August. Most stores and businesses closed early on Tuesday in anticipation. We update all our hurricane preparedness at the beginning of the summer and we were ready for the worst, but we are fine. No news of storm surge or power outages, no wind damage. The street was wet this morning, and all the grass and landscaping had greened up around town. We saw a few downed palm leaves and one or two branches Wednesday morning on our way out for coffee. News and pictures of the storm:
