4 lbs bone in beef short ribs
2 T coconut oil
1 large sweet onion, halved and sliced
1 12 oz bottle chili sauce
3/4 c plum or other fruit preserves
2 T brown sugar
2 T red wine vinegar
2 T worcestershire sauce
2 T dijon mustard
1/4 tsp cloves
Brown ribs in hot oil. In a crock pot, layer onions and ribs. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours or until the meat is tender. In a saucepan, combine the remaining ingredients into a barbeque sauce and cook until bubbly. Pour sauce over ribs in crock pot and cook an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour until sauce is thickened.
