1 c butter
1/2 c coconut oil
3 c sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 c flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
5 T cocoa powder
1 c milk or buttermilk
Beat butter and coconut oil; add sugar and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; then beat in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients into a separate bowl then add alternately with milk to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Bake chocolate pound cake in a greased 10-inch tube pan at 325° for 80 minutes, or until cake tests done. Let cool in pan 10 minutes, then turn out on wire rack to cool completely.
