For a 8-9″ pie shell / For an 8″ / 10″ cheesecake crust:
1-1/2 c graham cracker or cookie crumbs / 2 c / 3 c
6 T butter / 8 T / 12 T
About 8 oz of graham crackers or cookies will make 1-1/2 c crumbs, and 16 oz will make 3 c crumbs. In a food processor, grind the crackers or cookies to crumbs. Melt the butter and drizzle over the cookie crumbs, mixing thoroughly with a fork. Press evenly into pie plate. Bake at 350 for 5 minutes or just until set. Cool and chill. This recipe will make an excellent graham cracker crust, shortbread crust, gingersnap crust, or chocolate crust using oreo cookies.
To make this pie crust gluten free, use gluten free graham crackers or almond meal (add 1-1/2 T sugar / 2 T / 3 T)
