8 oz cream cheese, softened
5 T butter, softened
1 T sour cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 to 2-1/2 c powdered sugar
Beat the cream cheese, butter, sour cream, and vanilla together until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Start with the lesser amount of sugar, and if the frosting tastes sweet enough, chill the frosting in the refrigerator until it reaches spreading consistency. Frosts one 2 to 3 layer cake.

Make a half recipe of frosting, and thin with milk until of drizzling consistency.
