Essential Studies.
Ezra 9 and 10, The purity of the holy seed
Additional studies: Ezra Index
Ezra was dealing with marriages which were mixed from the beginning; so that the holy seed willingly chose to be yoked to the unholy. That Israel repented of this sin also, reveals that this remnant was in fact the holy seed, for repentance when convicted of sin characterizes the holy seed.
Proverbs 23, The rod of correction
Additional studies: Proverbs Index
There are two pictographs of hands in the ancient Hebrew alephbet. The yud י is the closed fist, and carries the meaning of working or even fighting. The kaph כ is the open palm, and carries the meaning of blessing. When a father pronounced his blessing over his son, he laid his open palm on his son’s head. Also when one man extends courtesy, hospitality, or friendship to another, he extends his open hand to him, not his closed fist. When one man gives another man anything he opens his hand to release the item from his possession.
Revelation 17, Mystery Babylon the Great
Additional studies: Revelation Index
The contrast is plain. God tells the end from the beginning, and reveals mysteries. The name of the book is Revelation! The false ideology of which Babylon is the head of gold, hides facts and conceals mysteries. All the religions of the world, which have silence, secrets, and initiation rites by degrees as components, have the harlot as their mother.
