Essential Studies.
Nehemiah 4 and 5, Building amidst opposition
Additional studies: Nehemiah Index (in process)
Israel is unique among the nations, in that her history prophesies of things to come for the people of God. In our own day, once again the Jews have returned to their land from exile among the nations. They have been working diligently to rebuild their country since their return, but it has been in the midst of opposition. Their enemies have been those transplanted to the West Bank and Gaza, Jordanians, and Arabs, exactly the same as in Nehemiah. When their enemies could not enlist the help of the king in stopping the work, they resorted to threats and intimidation. The Jews took their threats seriously, but they did not stop the work. So today, Israel? Keep building, but every one with his sword girded on his thigh. And do not relinquish your city just because your enemies are demanding it of you.
Proverbs 21 through 25, A house shared with a contentious woman
Additional studies: Proverbs Index
To be contented is to be satisfied with one’s possessions, status, or situation, not needing more (Webster’s). To be contentious is to be perversely argumentative and quarrelsome (Webster’s). I would add, to be contentious is to be dissatisfied with one’s possessions, status, or situation. The contentious woman’s dissatisfaction is at the root of her arguments and quarrels. One woman is satisfied with the content of her life, so she is content. Another woman is dissatisfied with the content of her life, so she is contentious.
Revelation 19, And where we are in history
Additional studies: Revelation Index
While the three frogs of the third interval are working on the kings, at the same time, the seventh bowl which has already been poured out has been working on the three frogs, to defeat their ideology. (The Third Interval Period). We can see that with the outpouring of the seventh bowl, and the defeat of Modern Rome, the Restoration has been in full effect: Ephraim is waking up to his Hebrew roots, Judah is waking up to his Messiah, and the world is undergoing a “Great Awakening” to truth in all spheres.
