I had originally pieced seven blocks with an aqua green complement (see Color Twist), thinking I would have one aqua green block per row, there being seven rows of blocks. When I started laying out the quilt blocks, however, I decided that I would rather have all the aqua green blocks surrounding a central red block. When I tried the layout, I loved it. However, there was an odd block. I needed eight blocks with an aqua green complement to complete the surround, and I only had seven.
I thought, Well, that’s what scrappy quilts are, you make do with what you have. But it bothered me, lol. So I took out the olive green homespun and replaced those pieces with an aqua green.
And, I rearranged my aqua green blocks around the central red block.
Now I am happy. 🙂 (And you can see I have started adding the white connecting squares to the central block …)
