3 apples, cored, cut into 6 wedges, and thinly sliced
1 c chopped figs (dried is fine)
1 c chopped celery
1 c coarsely chopped walnuts or almonds
6 slices beef bacon, cooked and crumbled
baby spinach
watercress, snipped (optional)
I like to add about as much baby spinach as there is everything else. This salad can be made with 2 different dressings, and it tastes wonderful with each one.
dressing A: 1 c mayonnaise + 1 c sweetened whipped cream + juice of one small lemon
dressing B: 1 recipe apple cider mustard vinaigrette
Dressing A is more traditional; but dressing B is also wonderful! Yum!
