Because YHVH set Jerusalem in the midst of the nations, to walk in His ways and be His priesthood nation in the midst of the seventy nations who rebelled, and because as His nation they bore His name, therefore its destruction will be in the sight of all the nations. Because Israel and Judah refused YHVH’s judgments of what is good and evil, right and wrong, therefore His judgment was upon them in the sight of the nations, because of their abominations.

YHVH is enthroned in the heavens, exalted; the arrogant proud lift themselves up. YHVH on His throne, however, exercises grace, while the arrogant proud exercise oppression, scorn, contempt.
Be surety for Your servant for good; do not let the proud oppress me. Psa 119:122.

James 2, Faith and works

Faith is like a tree. The seed of the Word is implanted in the soil of the heart (Jam 1:21), and that seed, if believed, springs up, grows, and produces fruit. It’s the nature of the tree to produce that fruit; the tree cannot fail to produce it. If the fruit is never present, then there is something wrong with the tree. Jesus said, “You will know them by their fruit” (Mat 7:16-20). So, the tension between faith and works emerged early in Church history. We have made them opposed: ‘faith versus works;’ but they are not opposed. They are two sides of the same coin: ‘faith and works.’ They are sisters, like mercy and truth, who walk hand in hand.
