Essential Studies.
Ezekiel 9 and 10, Marked on the forehead
Additional studies: Ezekiel Index (in process)
The scenario we are reading in Ezekiel today is of destruction and calamity decreed, but first, before it is carried out, the servants of God must be marked on their foreheads. Why? So the decreed destruction does not come upon them. This Pattern Repeats in Rev 7:2-4.
Psalm 121 through 125, Repeating Themes
Additional studies: Psalms, Book Five: Psalms 107-150 Index
How can these psalms co-exist in a world where things like the October 7th carnage happens? Messiah Yeshua was asked a similar question, when calamity befell those who were peacefully offering their sacrifices (Luk 13:1-3). He didn’t answer the question of “Why,” just as God did not answer it for Job. But, YHVH shall lead away the workers of iniquity, and peace shall be upon Israel, when Messiah Yeshua, the Root and Branch of David, establishes His throne there for judgment.
James 4, Drawing near to God
Additional studies: James Index
The Greek for “to draw near” is used to translate “to offer an offering” (Lev 1:2) in the Septuagint. The purpose of bringing an offering in the Hebrew Testament, is to draw near to God in worship. Since Messiah has come, we no longer bring animal sacrifices to the Temple. Yeshua became our sacrifice once for all (Heb 10:1-22). But through Him, the door to Heaven is standing open (Rev 4:1), and we have access to the throne room of God (Heb 4:16).
