Essential Studies.
Ezekiel 37 and 38, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Ezekiel Index
In chapter 37, Ezekiel has a vision of the salvation prophesied in chapter 34: Life from death, flesh from dry bones, and His Spirit providing new life. His people will walk in newness of life, which looks like walking in His statutes and judgments, to observe and keep them, because His statutes and judgments contained in the Law of Moses, is the Law of Walking in Love.
Psalm 145, Reverse Parallelism
Additional studies: Psalms, Book Five: Psalms 107-150 Index
The structure compares the great power and authority of YHVH, and His great care that He has for all under His authority. This is the true nature of authority; it does not lord it over or enslave, but godly authority in every case uses its power to care for and bless those under it.
1 John 5, God’s love language
Additional studies: 1, 2, & 3 John Index
John is teaching us that the way we express our love for God, is by keeping His commandments. If you were told that keeping His commandments means that you are nullifying the grace that has saved you, you were told a doctrine of men that has no support in Scripture. … If this is the first time you have heard that New Testament believers in Messiah Yeshua express their faith and their love for God by keeping God’s commandments, I encourage you to start here: The righteousness that is of faith, and follow the linked posts at the bottom of each page.
