I am so excited to see Narnia this afternoon that I am having
trouble concentrating … only a half an hour to go till noon and
closing shop for the weekend … my packages are on the step for the
UPS guy to pick up, and sweet dh is at the post office now, doing the
mailing … I gave up on writing. For writing I need concentration. I
need no distractions; I don’t have that today. I could work on
Christmas preparations … no, not enough time for that … I could get
some cleaning done … actually, cleaning is a wonderfully calming way
to use up nervous energy. It makes the time pass, and when you are
done, you have something worthwhile to show for it! Off to wash
baseboards and door knobs …

Update:
Narnia was breathtaking. The wind blows in Aslan’s mane, and you can
see individual hairs moving. It was amazing; all the mythological
creatures were so seamless and believable. I was enthralled, the
visuals of Narnia are lush, wonderful, other-wordly; the witch’s ice
palace and Cair Paravel looked magnificent. And they even kept in the
scene where the Professor says, “Logic! What do they teach in these
schools?” LOL, one of my favorite scenes from the book. I can’t wait to
see it again. In the meantime, I have to go dig out my Narnia books; I
haven't read them since we read them to the children years ago, and the
movie makes me want to read them again. I hope it has that effect on
everyone who sees it.
