Pharaoh Siamun of the 21st dynasty was the possible pharaoh who was Solomon’s father-in-law. This dynasty ruled from Tanis in the Nile Delta during a period of Egyptian decline, as all dynasties following Ramesses, the dynasty judged by God, were. As Egypt was no longer a dominant empire, the 21st dynasty relied on alliances to maintain relevance on the world stage, such as his alliance with Solomon—who was the world power—via the marriage of his daughter. A relief at Tanis shows Siamun smiting a Canaanite or Philistine figure holding a double axe, their typical weaponry in this era, suggesting campaigns in the Holy Land as the Bible records. The 21st dynasty aligns according to Biblical chronology, with the era of Solomon’s reign.
