1 c butter, soft
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vsnilla
2-1/4 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 c finely chopped pecans
Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Work in flour, salt and pecans until the dough holds together. (Use your hands. The heat will keep the butter soft and help the dough hold together.) Shape into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes or until set but not brown. While still warm, roll in additional powdered sugar. Place on racks and cool completely. When cool, roll in powdered sugar again right before storing. Makes 4 dozen.
