Then YHVH will do a wonder and a marvelous work among His people: the nations that come against her will be punished in an instant by YHVH, and they will be gone as when a man wakes up from a dream, and behold: it was a dream. God Himself will make Jacob’s children, the work of His hands; they will hallow the Holy One of Jacob and fear the God of Israel from the heart and in truth.

The dilemma of the prosperity of the wicked, is such a dilemma that it caused the psalmist pain (vs. 16). He couldn’t explain it to the generation of the Lord’s children (vs. 15). It is such a dilemma because the Torah promises blessings for the obedient and curses for the disobedient (Deu 28). But the psalmist rightly observes that it is the wicked who seem to inherit every blessing, and the righteous who are plagued and chastened every morning. But the end of the wicked is destruction, while the end of the righteous is glory. In the mean time, let us draw near to God for our good, and put our trust in YHVH our God, as the just shall live by faith. ♥

We can see the wisdom of God in sending the Holy Spirit to His church to bear witness by manifest power and by signs following, that the word being preached by the disciples, is true. But then, even more than that, we see that not all preaching is done by oration. Never underestimate the power of your changed life to preach the gospel even beyond your immediate circle. It is a voice that speaks, without words and without speech! ♥
