The favor which YHVH showed to Hezekiah, is the Hebrew word gemuwl, Strong’s H1576, and it is the same favor or benefit the Psalmist describes (“… forget not all His benefits (gemuwl),” Psa 103:1-4. We have to remind ourselves of the great favor YHVH shows us every single day, and bless Him for it. Yes, “blessed be YHVH, who daily loads us with benefits (gemuwl,)” Psa 68:19! That blessing, praise, thanksgiving, gratitude, and worship is how we repay Him for the favor He shows us, for how can we repay to anything to YHVH? Our heartfelt and sincere gratitude is the only means we have in our hands to return to Him!
Psalm 79, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Psalms, Book Three: Psalms 73-89 Index
Do not remember our iniquities but provide atonement for our sins; this prayer of the Psalmist’s is the very thing that God has done. And we will be commemorating His Atonement on the annual Day of Atonement which is coming up in just a few weeks.
1 Thessalonians 5, Fear not the coming judgment
Additional studies: 1 & 2 Thessalonians Index
I know I am going against the mainstream by saying, things are going to get better in the world, not worse. The world is going to be lulled to sleep again by peace and safety. Jesus taught the same when He said His coming would be like the days of Noah and the days of Lot (Luk 17:26-30). Those of the world did not believe Noah when he preached righteousness to them, because things were going good. Those of the world did not believe Lot when he warned them of the destruction of the city, because things were going good. And just as God was able to judge the Egyptians with plagues, while keeping His own in perfect safety (Exo 1-12), so He will be able to appoint wrath to the world, while preserving us in salvation. So, fear not! ♥
