Three times
I pleaded with the Lord
About this thorn in my
flesh
This messenger of Satan
Sent to harass me
That it should leave me.
But He said to me
“My grace is sufficient
for you
For My power is made
perfect
In weakness.”
Therefore
I will boast all the
more gladly
Of my weaknesses
So that the power of
Christ
May rest upon me.
For the sake of Christ,
then
I am content with
weaknesses
Insults, hardships,
persecutions
And calamities
For when I am weak
Then I am strong.
When peace like a river
attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea
billows roll
Whatever my lot, Thou
hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well
with my soul
My sin, O the bliss of
this glorious thought
My sin – not in part,
but the whole
Is nailed to the cross,
and I bear it no more

And Lord haste the day
when my faith shall be sight
The clouds be rolled
back as a scroll
