I couldn’t get over the J pair today.
1j) Psa 119:96, I have seen the consummation of all perfection, but Your commandment is exceedingly broad. {p}
2j) Psa 119:105, nun Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
That the Lord’s commandments are broad, we saw meant limitless respective of time and space. In fact the Hebrew word broad, spacious, expansive, is the same word used for the law of liberty in Psa 119:45. The pairing, which cannot be made any other way, because the surrounding elements force the two together, reveals that His broad commandment is a lamp and a light to our path. Now Jesus said, the path was narrow that leads to life, but broad that leads to death. This is a puzzle I will be meditating on for some time. Monday, Lord willing, Psa 120!

“Broad” is an adjective, but it’s describing two different things. In Psalm 119, the commandment is broad, giving light to a very narrow path. Yeshua was speaking to people whose path was broad and wanted to stay far away from what appeared to them to be a very restrictive path.
This is so cool… 🙂

I meant to say, “They wanted to stay far away from what appeared to them to be a very restrictive commandment.” LOL…

A commandment, and a set of commandments, it turns out, is not restrictive at all, but limitless respective of time and space! In fact, the Law of Liberty! <3
