abundance of joy in trials

1 Peter 1:6-7

Trials and hurts need not be wasted events in my life; I realized I can actively use trials and hurts that happen to me to grow in love. They give me an opportunity to show love to God, by not abandoning my love or trust in Him, but instead seeking Him for the right response to what has happened. They give me an opportunity to show love to others by turning the other cheek, walking in forgiveness, and remaining kind in all my words and deeds. God can build His own character and nature in me, by perfecting me in love through these opportunities to show love. So even though I have sorrow because of the trials, I can have an abundance of joy because God is using me, even me, to pour out Heaven’s love to touch the earth. ♥
