The first occurrence.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the ground after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Gen 1:25
The primitive root.
Strong’s H127 אדמה adamah, a concrete noun meaning, “ground, land, clay;” from Strong’s H119 אדם adam, a verb of unknown derivation according to Strong’s, meaning, “to be red.” The 3-letter root is aleph + dalet + mem.
aleph א = ox head, thus strength, power, leader
dalet ד = door, thus enter, move, hang
mem מ ם = the water, thus chaos, mighty, blood
The story: A powerful (aleph) flowing (dalet, as a door swinging back and forth) of blood (mem) into the face gives it a red appearance.
