Hosea 13 and 14, Healing their backsliding

A time was coming, which Hosea was prophesying of, when Israel will return to YHVH with words, with the sacrifices of his lips, to take away his iniquity, and not the sacrifices of bulls and goats.
John puts it this way:
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins (return to YHVH with words), He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity. 1 Joh 1:8-9
It is because of Messiah’s sacrifice for sin, that Israel can return to YHVH, bringing words with them instead of bulls and goats. It is Ephraim’s backsliding that YHVH will heal, so that they will return to Him with words, and reject their idols. Thank You Father!
Psalm 42, Abundant salvation

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? {n} Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the abundant salvation of His presence. Psa 42:5
Salvation, in the Hebrew grammar, is the plural of the abstract concept, literally, “salvations.” It’s an intensive plural, a noun that has been magnified or multiplied, as doubling something mathematically, multiplies it. Therefore we translate it as abundant salvation, to convey the emphatic sense that the Hebrew grammar intends.

So the entire account of the Jerusalem Council only reaffirms for us what we have already learned, that salvation is by grace through faith, not by works of obedience to the Law, but once we are in covenant relationship with YHVH—once we have been grafted in to the olive tree of Israel—let us put off the old man, let us learn to forsake sin and walk in holiness and obedience to God by the power of the Holy Spirit indwelling us. How do we know what God considers holy and what God considers sin and what God considers a manner of walking which is worthy of His name? The Torah teaches us that.
