The original Hebrew treats the two kings (Pul and Tiglath-Pileser) as if they were two separate kings, Tiglath-Pileser merely succeeding Pul on the throne. This turn of events is explained from Assyrian and Babylonian history in The Story of the Ancient World, as follows (the repentance of the kings of Nineveh (Assyria) was due to the preaching of Jonah, for all that generation).

Yeshua equated the Holy Spirit with the Comforter. In Greek it is Parakletos, He who comes alongside to uphold, an Advocate. Your advocate goes with you before the judge to plead your case for acquital, or deliverance from guilt. God our Father is so amazing. Against Him, and Him only, have we sinned, and yet He has provided not only our Sin Sacrifice in Messiah Yeshua, but also our Advocate to uphold our head and plead our case for us, so that we are delivered of the guilt of our sins. ♥

Creation week in itself is a prophecy of the times of the coming of Messiah. For in six days God worked, and on the 7th day He rested. So for six millennia the curse of sin will be on the world (which is work, Gen 3:16-19), but the 7th millennium will be the millennium of rest under the kingship of the Messiah. After it became clear that Messiah’s return would not happen within the lifetime of the apostles, this understanding of the prophetic nature of the Creation week was the common one held by the early Church fathers as can be seen from their writings.
