This is what I am making on holidays instead of the crab spread we grew up with, as we no longer eat crab.
16 oz cream cheese, soft
1 c sour cream
6 green onions, minced
1 lemon, juiced and zested
4 T minced fresh dill
2 tsp prepared horseradish
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
6-8 oz smoked salmon, minced
Blend the cream cheese with sour cream, onion, lemon juice and zest, dill, horseradish, and salt and pepper. Spread the cream cheese evenly out on a plate or platter. Top evenly with salmon. (Or the salmon can be blended into the cream cheese mixture.) Garnish with green onion tops, if desired. Serve with crackers, or matzah for passover and unleavened bread.
