The brand is in Hebrew, Strong’s H181, a branch of wood pulled out of a fire, used to stir up the fire. It’s a dead branch to fuel the fire. The branch is in Hebrew, Strong’s H6780, a growing branch of a tree. This branch is a living branch.
Yeshua, our high priest, in His death became a brand which stirred up the great fire of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, poured out upon His church. In His resurrection He became The Branch, the living branch, who gives life to His church producing His fruit (Joh 15:1-2).
Poverbs 11, Contrasting the righteous and wicked
Additional studies: Proverbs Index
The biblical definition of a righteous man is one who walks in God’s ways and who obeys God’s words—regardless of what they declare they believe. The biblical definition of a wicked man is one who does not walk in God’s ways and who disobeys God’s words—regardless of what they declare they believe. So anyone who walks in God’s ways, church-goer or not, is righteous; and anyone who does not walk in God’s ways, church-goer or not, is wicked. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven,” Mat 7:21.
