The Hebrew Paragraph:
34:1-12 {p} The death of Moses/ Joshua/ a prophet like Moses
Deu 34:1-12 {p} concludes a multi-chapter Chiastic Structure:
As well, the whole book of Deuteronomy makes a single Chiastic Structure:
The two central axes are telling the same message:
YHVH’s voice spoke these commandments, so hear, pay heed, and observe them;
Set your heart on all these words, because it is your life.
Jesus did not abolish the message of these structures, for He said:
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” Mat 4:4
Quoting from Deu 8:3:
So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of YHVH.
Modern Christians often skip over the first five books of Moses when reading the Bible, but man lives by every word which proceeds from the mouth of God, including His words in Genesis through Deuteronomy.
