6 hard boiled eggs
1/4 c mayonnaise
1 tsp prepared mustard
1 tsp vinegar
paprika
To hard boil eggs: Place eggs in a pot with cold water to cover on a cold stove. Turn the heat on high to bring to a boil, and set the timer for 15 minutes. When the water is at a full boil, reduce heat just to simmer. When the timer goes off, drain the eggs, remove them to a clean bowl, and cover with cold water and ice until the eggs are cold. Peel under running cold water, beginning at the large end. Pat dry. Slice the eggs in half lengthwise and remove the yolks. Mash the yolks with the mayonnaise, adding more if necessary, and the mustard, and vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste. Fill the egg centers with the deviled yolk, and garnish with paprika. Makes 12 deviled eggs. This was the recipe Grandma Burbank always made (and thus the recipe I always make!)
