Hebrew paragraph division
Exo 2:1-22 {p} Moses, born to be Israel’s deliverer
Exo 2:1-22 chiastic structure
The central axis highlights that for a second time the king of Egypt sought to kill Moses. The first was when he pronounced a death sentence on the baby boys of the Hebrews. (This is prophetic history – history which prophesies – and reveals Moses as a type of Messiah).
Surrounding that is Moses, before he was ever called by God, naturally acting out of his identity, gifting, and calling of deliverer. We see that those he delivered where those who were the vulnerable, who were being oppressed by those who should have rather been protecting and blessing them. A deliverer is who Moses was, and no man saying, “Who made you a ruler and judge over us?” can negate the calling which God had prepared beforehand. ♥
