3/4 c butter
3/4 c sugar
1/4 c light molasses
1 egg
2 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 c butterscotch chips
3/4 c peanuts, chopped
Melt butter in large saucepan, cool. Add sugar, molasses, and egg, mixing well. Stir in dry ingredients, butterscotch chips and peanuts. Shape dough into balls, place on greased cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 4 dozen cookies. Mom made these all the time when we were little – they were my favorite.
