The Hebrew paragraphs:
25:1-5 {p} I will praise You, for You have brought low the nations/ have been a refuge to the poor and needy
25:6-8 {p} YHVH will feast all people on His mountain/ destroy the veil blinding the nations and death forever
25:9-12 {s} We have waited for God and He has saved us/ He will bring down the pride of the proud
The Chiastic structure:
The something wonderful that YHVH has done:
And He will swallow up on this mountain the face of the covering that covers all the peoples, and the veil that is spread over all the nations. vs. 7.
Did you know a veil is spread over the nations? In Rev 9:2, smoke from the bottomless pit obscures the light (of the sun). And in Rev 16:17, the angel pours his bowl into the air, so that, “It is done!” It clears the atmosphere of that veil which had obscured it.
He will swallow up death forever … vs. 8a
So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 1 Cor 15:54
And my Lord YHVH will wipe away a tear from every face … vs. 8b
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Rev 21:4
Behold, this is our God; we waited for Him, and He saved us! … vs. 9
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Titus 2:11-14
Isaiah, it turns out, is the proto-Revelation. The New Testament isn’t new, it’s just true.
