ESSENTIAL STUDIES.
2 Chronicles 7:14, If My People
Additional studies: 1 & 2 Chronicles Index
Despite what the doom and gloomers say, when you wake up one morning and discover you are on a road you do not want to be on, there is a way back and there is hope. God outlines the way back for a lost nation in 2 Chr 7:14.
YHVH asks three things:
1) That His people humble themselves;
2) That His people pray and seek His face;
3) That His people turn from their wicked ways.
And the people that He is requiring to walk this path of return and restoration to blessing, are not the atheist, evolutionist, God- hating, self- promoting, flesh- and money- loving lost. They can continue in their foolish and destructive path. But, if His people, who are called by His name, will do these three things, then He will also forgive their sin and heal their land. Yes, just as He took credit for the adversity, He will also take credit for the recovery. The compliance and cooperation of atheists and the unrighteous is not required.
Psalm 14, The City of Zion
Additional studies: Psalms Book One: 1-41 Index
Notice that the city of God is not named Jerusalem but Zion. To understand why, consider the Teaching Tool of Natural Pictures. If Jerusalem is the natural city, the capital city of David, thus of Israel, then Zion is the spiritual city, the capital city of the kingdom of God, with Messiah its King (Heb 12:22-24). Mount Zion is carefully identified with the heavenly capital city, not the earthly capital city of Jerusalem. Why? Because the earthly Jerusalem, Jesus lamented, kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her (Mat 23:37). The earthly Jerusalem is unwilling to be gathered under the Lord’s wings.
Luke 20, Broken to pieces

It’s as if Jesus is saying, Brokenness is going to happen, one way or the other. Therefore, choose well!
