Do you notice three times a destructive catastrophe happens: a mighty wind great enough to break rocks in pieces, then an earthquake, then a fire. Three destructive catastrophes – three being the number of Messiah, highlighting the teaching tool that a passage is being prophetic of Messiah. And three times the Scripture repeats, “YHVH was not in the wind … the earthquake … the fire.”
YHVH was not in the destruction, the devastation, or the noise. He was in the still, small voice. We have this “God is angry and judgmental” mindset, drilled into us by the world, with the Church in full cooperation. But that is not what the Scriptures say.

PURE is from Strong’s H1305 ברר barar, “to separate or sever, to select or choose.” Ripened grain (bet + resh), after it is harvested, is threshed to separate the wheat from the chaff, thus selecting the choice (resh) or usuable portion of the grain. The connection to clean, pure, is that the grain stalks were then burned, and the ash used to make soap used for cleaning. You might say that the commandments of YHVH are like soap to clean the eyes from the filth of the world that they may be subjected to, that is, to enlighten them.

The parable being told of “king” by the Hebrew Root Word is of the blood (mem) which has the authority (lamed) to bless (kaph). The precious blood of Jesus, shed on the cross, blesses those who put Him to death. And really, that includes all of us, doesn’t it? For all of us put Him to death, and not only the 1st-century inhabitants of Jerusalem. His blood was shed for the sins of the whole world, including me and you.
