1/2 c butter
3/4 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp grated lemon peel
2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp lemon extract
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 c buttermilk
1-3/4 c flour
Cream together the butter and sugar, beat in the egg, lemon peel, lemon juice, lemon extract, baking powder and baking soda. Stir in half the flour, then the buttermilk, then the rest of the flour. Drop by teaspoons 2 inches apart on ungreased cookies sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack. When cool, brush each cookie with lemon glaze. Makes 4 dozen.

Combine 1/4 c sugar and 2 T lemon juice, stirring till sugar dissolves.
