Chiastic structure
The structure of the first parsha, Lev 1:1-9 {s}, establishes a pattern followed by the subsequent parshas of the voluntary offerings.
The first three parshas, Lev 1:1-17, explain the voluntary blood offering or olah, while the final five parshas, Lev 2:1-16, explain the voluntary grain offering or minchah.

Note that both the olah and minchah are qorban, that which draws the man home. They are both made to smoke upon the altar, both offerings made by fire or ishshaw, and both a sweet aroma to YHVH. See The parables of the offerings for the Hebrew root word definitions.
