Today’s Old Testament chronological reading is in Numbers 19 and 20.
The Psalms/ Proverbs reading is in Psalm 89.
The New Testament reading is Luke 19.
Today’s notes, and Chiastic structures.
The Luk 19:11-40 Reverse parallelism is new for today.
Please note that the master who took account of his servants, was dealing with his own servants and not those outside. There are some who name themselves by the Master’s name, who do not want Him reigning over them. Doesn’t the King have the right to command His own servants? It puts me in mind of Mat 7:21-23:
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Practicing lawlessness under the guise of grace is no light thing!
