ESSENTIAL STUDIES.
Judges 17, The foundation of authority
Additional studies: Judges Index
There occurred a breakdown of authority in every level of society, as neither fathers, local judges, elders, nor priests taught God’s Word written down in the Law of Moses diligently. This was their responsibility. Every authority has its responsibility as the reason for their authority in the first place. And following a breakdown of authority and the abdication of their responsibilities, is the breakdown of society, as we will see.
Psalm 132, Chiastic Structure
Additional studies: Psalms Book Five (107-150) Index
Since the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, YHVH has dwelt within His people by His Spirit. We are His temple made without hands, joined together as living stones (1 Pet 2:5). Those who are His, are the royal priesthood and the holy nation (1 Pet 2:9). And those of that priesthood, David proclaims prophetically, are clothed with salvation, yes, and just as equally, righteousness (B pair). Salvation and righteousness always appear together in Scripture, for they are inseparable. The new nature of those who are saved, is the root which produces the fruit of righteousness. Beloved, do not fear to walk in obedience to YHVH according to His righteous standards, for this is the outward sign of your inward transformation. ♥
Galatians 4, Trust and obey
Additional studies: Galatians Index
Our obedience, now that we are heirs come fully into the inheritance, comes from the Spirit within our hearts. He has written the Law of God on the tablets of our hearts within us (Eze 36:26-27). We want to obey, we are no longer compelled to obey by guardians (the Law written on tablets of stone without us, while the sin nature rules within) as if we were children.
