My sister and I helped my Mom sort through her stuff today. I saw things of my Dad’s that I hadn’t seen since he was alive. I saw things of my Mom’s that I hadn’t seen since I was a child still living at home. And I am a grandma now.
So I feel wrung out like a dishrag. I can think of a lot to blog about, but my brain is operating just above mush level right now, LOL. I thought I would highlight what the discussion has been about on my other blogs.
On this side of heaven, the most interesting discussions have been about commercially- prepared food and the additives in them that can affect our health in unexpected or adverse ways. We have been talking about the hidden ways gluten is added to the food. We have been talking about MSG, how it is related to gluten sensitivity, its adverse effects on our health, and how it is hidden in our food. And we have been talking about sugar sensitivity and what all that entails.
Over at Christine’s Kitchen, I have been posting recipes as I cook. Favorites from the last week or two include barbequed beef, white chili, and cream of asparagus soup. I hope to be back in writing form tomorrow. Thank you so much for your prayers, I appreciate it very much.

Christine,
I took care of my mom for the last three months of her life. She thought it was such a gift to her ….I moved to her home 1000 miles away with my 3 kids (and books) in tow! We were there January-April of 2001.
In reality, the gift was mine. She listened at “school time” as I read aloud to the kids: The Dangerous Journey , Charlotte’s Web, and Those Happy Golden Years.
Enjoy your finally weeks together.
Maureen
