Ezekiel 19 and 20, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Ezekiel Index
YHVH’s pleading with His people, and purging their dross, takes place in the wilderness of the peoples. Afterward He will bring them into the land He promised to give their fathers:
“For on My holy mountain, on the mountain height of Israel, says YHVH God, all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, shall serve Me.” Eze 20:40
And He will accept our service as a sweet aroma, the same phrase used in Leviticus describing the acceptable sacrifice!
Psalm 120 through 126, Reverse Parallelism

Theme of this psalm: a praise of return to the Land, from the south (vs. 4) and the north (vs.5-6).
Wait a minute Christine, how can you say Psa 126:5-6 in any way relates to returning from the north? Ha ha, I love God’s Word! If we look up Meshech in Hebrew, the name actually means, “a drawing out, as sowing seed in a furrow.” In Psa 120, the exiles were in woe and sorrow, among Meshech (sowing the seed); in Psa 126, the exiles are full of rejoicing, having returned with a harvest!
James 4, Draw near to God
Additional studies: James Index
Drawing near to God: the Greek for “to draw near” is used to translate “to offer an offering” (Lev 1:2) in the Septuagint. The purpose of bringing an offering in the Hebrew Testament, is to draw near to God in worship. Since Messiah has come, we no longer bring animal sacrifices to the Temple. Yeshua became our sacrifice once for all (Heb 10:1-22). But through Him, the door to Heaven is standing open (Rev 4:1), and we have access to the throne room of God (Heb 4:16).
