Essential Studies.
Jeremiah 30 and 31, The newness of the new covenant
Additional studies: Jeremiah Index (in process)
Under the old covenant, God’s Law was written on tablets of stone, without the man. The man’s heart was not changed. The heart of stone, the heart of unbelief (Heb 3:19), would not believe the word YHVH was telling him. He was taken out of Egypt, and tablets of stone put before his eyes, but Egypt still dwelt in the man’s heart. This was the reality of the old covenant! But in the new covenant, God’s Law is written on the flesh of the heart within the man. God does a radical heart transplant, removing the heart of stone, and replacing it with a heart of flesh. He infills the man with His Spirit, which empowers him to walk in obedience to YHVH’s commandments.
Psalm 119, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Psalm 119 Index of Studies
Psalm 119 resolves into a beautiful Chiastic structure, the entire psalm, all 176 verses. I was told by theological experts that Psalm 119 was like Proverbs: pearls in a box, but random and mixed up, not pearls on a string. Well, it’s pearls on a string, pin-headed experts, and so is Proverbs LOL. ♥
Hebrews 13, Perfect in every good work
Additional studies: Hebrews Index
That katartizo (perfect, perfected) was chosen to translate both yasad and kuwn from Hebrew into Greek, reveals that at that time, the understanding of its meaning was “to establish, to lay a foundation.” That is, according to Webster’s, He will make you firm and stable in every good work to do His will. Amen!
