The Comparisons and Contrasts of Proverbs 21:
YHVH rules over kings, but no one can overrule YHVH (vs. 1 and 30);
Righteousness pleases YHVH, but the sacrifice of the wicked is abhorrent to Him (vs. 3 and 27);
The diligent tends to abundance, and the righteous is generous and gives (vs. 5 and 26);
Impulsiveness tends to poverty, and laziness to death (vs. 5 and 25);
The wicked brings destruction on himself, while the righteous brings life and honor on himself (vs. 7 and 21);
The soul of the wicked desires evil, while the soul of the righteous finds joy in justice (vs. 10 and 15);
Fools will not learn by instruction, but only punishment; while the wise increase in wisdom when instructed (vs. 11);
Death is the end of the man who loves folly, and poverty is the end of the man who loves pleasure (vs. 16-17).
