Micah 6 and 7, What does YHVH require
Additional studies: Book of Micah studies
God is unchanging and His mercy is unchanging, and His gospel of salvation is unchanging from Genesis to Revelation. If He did not want His grace taken advantage of then, He does not want it taken advantage of now. It is not any different, today, just because the sacrifice for sin that we bring, is by the blood of Jesus, and no longer by the blood of bulls and goats.
Psalm 62, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Psalms, Book Two: Psalms 42-72 Index
The theme of the entire Psalm might be said to be, the folly of the things in which the wicked trust (wicked acts, status, oppression, robbery, riches) and the wisdom and surety of the thing in which the righteous trust (in God alone, His power and mercy). ♥
Ephesians 6, Having done all, stand
Additional studies: Ephesians Index
The Hebrew Root Word parable for ‘to stand’ is of looking out (ayin) over a mighty body (mem, like a mighty sea; thus also people, as of many people amassed as a mighty sea). Therefore a mighty people (ayin + mem) like an upright frame (dalet, upon which the door curtain hangs), i.e. standing upright, often with the meaning of standing for something, or standing your ground. It means, when the enemy or our circumstances lie a lie to us which flies in the face of the Word of God, we stand up and affirm the truth; we do not lie down and let the lie walk over us.
