Now the planting of YHVH, His trees of righteousness, rebuild, restore, repair, prepare the way, build up the highway, and remove its stones and stumbling blocks, which has been desolate for many generations. What highway is this? The highway of the LORD, the path of righteousness in which He walks, which He has revealed to us in Torah. The Living Torah, Messiah Yeshua, accomplishes this.

The psalm contrasts the eternity of God and the surety of His works, with the brevity of man who returns to dust, when his life is over like a vapor. Returning to dust is not our created state, but mortality was the consequence of our choice of sin rather than obedience to God (Gen 3). Sin is forbidden because it hurts self and others. Returning to the dust puts an end to the damage one man can do to another. When we contemplate the eternity and majesty, the authority and wisdom of God, to have chosen mortality for man as a consequence of sin, we gain a heart of wisdom, especially when we compare His steadfastness from generation to generation, to the brief span of our lives. For those who have gained this wisdom, who have repented of sin, and who seek to spend their lives worshiping God instead of hurting others, may His beauty and grace be upon them, and may the work of their hands be established to endure to His glory! Amen. ♥

The Hebraic religion of the Bible teaches that man is a triune being, that is, he is an eternal spirit, in possession of a soul, consisting of a mind, a will, and a personality. We are not sure how the spirit and soul are related, but we infer from our Bible reading, that the spirit/ soul is the immaterial, immortal part of man. The spirit/ soul dwells in the material body, as a person dwells in a house. When the material body dies, the eternal spirit/ soul is released from the body, and lives on in waiting.
Jesus, by saying that He goes to wake Lazarus from his sleep, shows us that sleep is a Natural Picture of this waiting period of death. Just as a person who is asleep is unconscious, unaware of the passage of time or the events occurring around him, so the person whose body has died is asleep, unconscious, unaware of the passage of time or of the events occurring around him. Whoever lives, believing in Jesus, shall never die. He is speaking of spiritual life, of eternal life, for bodies die. But the spirit/ soul of the person lives on.
