In other words, the written Word and the Living Word agree. That the Living Word shows us grace and truth, reveals that the written Word also shows forth grace and truth. They are of the same origin; the One created the universe, and then His essence written down, and then, begotten again, in the person of Messiah Yeshua. The nature of the Word does not change in the process. But merely, we have been told that the one is angry and judgmental, while the other is gracious and loving. If we read the written Word and only see anger and judgment, then we have not understood what we have read. That is what the Gospel is teaching us, and that is why Yeshua was at loggerheads with the religious professionals (who only saw anger and judgment) so often. This is such a deeply embedded misunderstanding of Torah that I wrote a book about it: The Law of Love: The Gospel of Grace Revealed in the Commandments of God. May it reveal grace and truth!
