Scripture is teaching us that there are kings in the spiritual world who correspond to kings in the natural world, ruling over the kingdoms of this world. Natural kings are men, who live and die; spiritual kings are great princes who are from of old, and who are at war. The Greek Testament calls them, principalities and rulers of darkness, spiritual wickedness in heavenly places (Eph 6:12). The spiritual king corresponding to the kingdoms of this world, embodied by Mystery Babylon the Great and its worldview and ideology (Rev 17:3-5), is the Shining One. He is opposed to the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah (the kingdom of heaven, Rev 11:15, see also Psa 2:2).
But soon the King of kings and Lord of lords will come, and the war will end, He being victorious over His enemies. And the whole earth will be at rest and quiet (Isa 14:7)!

The faint heart, according to Gesenius’ Hebrew Lexicon, is a heart that is wrapped in darkness; from its primitive root of being shrouded or covered over. Thus David’s location at the end of the earth. In Hebrew poetry, “the end of the earth” often isn’t literal geography but a metaphor for extreme distance, isolation, or desperation. It’s as if David feels utterly remote at the world’s edge, being at the “farthest reaches” from God’s presence. He’s calling to YHVH for rescue.
The Chiastic Structure makes a Contrast in the B pair, from being at the utmost extremity from God, to dwelling in His tent forever. ♥

“Ah ha! You believers in Jesus Christ who abstain from pork, here is your proof text that you are actually in error!” You know, when I find a place in Scripture like this that expressly contradicts another place in Scripture that we have already studied, the first thing I do is put down my modern translation and pick up the King James, and then the Greek Literal Translation after that. Why? Because truth cannot contradict itself and remain truth. We have a misunderstanding somewhere, and 99% of Biblical misunderstandings come, not from the text itself, but from its translation into English.
