Today’s Old Testament chronological reading is in Daniel 10 through 12.
The Psalms/ Proverbs reading is in Proverbs 6.
The New Testament reading is in Revelation 4.
Today’s notes.
After this I looked, and, behold, A DOOR WAS STANDING OPEN IN HEAVEN. Rev 4:1a
In my notes, I have that the door was standing open in heaven, because of the crucifixion and resurrection of Messiah Yeshua, in 33 AD.
“In fact, from the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the door to heaven has been standing open, and anyone who is called, may come, and enter through the Door, who is Jesus (Joh 10:7-9). Jesus told us that the door will one day be shut (Mat 25:10). But in 96 AD, when John saw this vision, the door to heaven was standing open.” Revelation Revealed, pg. 16.
This is the door He opens, that no one can shut, and door He shuts, when we come to that time, that no one can then open (Rev 3:7).
He accomplished this work in His FIRST ADVENT.
Now what is interesting, is that this verse fragment is a matching element, in the greater chiastic structure of Revelation, to:
Now I saw HEAVEN OPENED, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. Rev 19:11
This is the first appearance, in the scroll of the history of the world, of the returning Messiah. And what follows is the work He accomplishes in His SECOND ADVENT as King of kings and Lord of lords. As we will learn as we go through the book, all the seals, trumpets, and bowls of wrath have already happened, and we are living, at this time in history, on the very cusp of His return!
